INEC Speaks On ‘’Postponing’’ 2019 election

Prof Mahmod Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, has spoken on the speculations and possibility of the 2019 general elections being postponed.

The INEC boss, had previously stated that the presidential and National Assembly elections was scheduled to hold on February 16th while the governorship/state assembly/Federal Capital Territory Area council elections was to hold on Saturday, March 2nd.

Yakubu said this in a recent interview with Osasu Show. He said,

“I cannot see any possibility of a postponement. We started this a long time ago. We have gone ahead with preparations. INEC is not even contemplating the possibility of a postponement” he said.
