After two weeks of hopeless search for the missing of football star, Emiliano Sala, the Britain’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch, AAIB, who were contracted for the search confirmed on Monday that they had concluded the search on the missing Premier League star..
According to AAIB, they found Sala’s body inside the wreckage of the plane on seabed near Guernsey.
Recall, that the aircraft disappeared over the English Channel in January, carrying the Cardiff City striker and his pilot.
A privately-funded underwater search had begun on Sunday, several days after investigators said they found two seat cushions on the French coast that likely belonged to the aircraft.
EuroSport reports that, the Britain’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch said in a statement said:
“Based on analysis of ROV (underwater remotely operated vehicle) video footage, the AAIB investigators on board the vessel concluded that the object is wreckage from the missing Piper Malibu aircraft,”.
“Tragically, in video footage from the ROV, one occupant is visible amidst the wreckage. The AAIB is now considering the next steps, in consultation with the families of the pilot and passenger, and the police.”
Meanwhile, Sala’s father, Horacio Sala, says he is still in shock after the heartbreaking discovery. He said,
“I can’t believe it. It’s a bad dream,” Horacio Sala told Cronica TV at his home in Progreso when contacted that his son’s missing plane has been found.
“I talk to them [my family] every day. But since I don’t have WhatsApp, it’s expensive to call them or for them to call me.
“But anyway, they kept saying days were going by, and that there had been zero words on Emiliano, or on the plane”.
May his soul rest in peace. Amen!
