A former senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Chief Joseph Kennedy Waku has died at age 72.
Chief Waku is reported to have died at the specialist Hospital in Abuja after a brief Illness family sources said.
Waku, who hails from the Guma local government area of Benue state was once elected a senator under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party from 1999-2003.
He was born on June 12th 1946.
He is survived by his wife and children. Reacting to his demise is equally an elder statesman like him, and a former minister, Iyorchia Ayu who wrote:

Known for his strong convictions, he vocally defended his beliefs, his people and social justice. An accomplished family man, business man and politician, he left this imperfect world as a successful man,a STATESMAN and inspiration to many people.
